RAPID allows hospitals to create their own DRG/CPT based service lines and populate them with the appropriate DRGs/CPTs. Service lines help hospitals organize DRGs or CPTs into related groups. These service lines can be used in reports and views to filter data by.
Adding, Updating and Deleting Service Lines for CPTs
To add, edit, or remove CPT service lines, click on the Service Lines option under the Data Mapping section of the Administration page.
This action displays the Service Lines page. Select CPT from the dropdown. The CPT Service Lines are displayed in a grid.
The data in this grid includes:
- Service Line ID,
- Service Line Name,
- CPTs - please note that only the first five CPTs mapped to a service line are displayed. If more than 5 CPTs are mapped, a link to the full CPT list is displayed.
You can edit or delete the individual Service Line, and edit the services it is mapped to. You can also add a new service line.
Adding a CPT Service Line
In the Service Line grid, click on the Add button at the bottom. The Service Line grid now shows an editable record at the bottom. Enter the Service Line Name and then click on the:
- Save icon to save the service line, or
- Cancel icon to discard your changes.
Modifying a CPT Service Line
To edit a service line record, click on the Edit (Pencil) icon in the rightmost column of the grid. The record now becomes editable.
You can make changes to the Service Line Name directly on the grid.
Note: Please note that the Editing the Service Line (accessed by clicking Edit icon in the rightmost column) is different from Editing the Service Mapping (accessed by clicking the Edit icon in the Edit Mapping column). Editing the Service Line helps you modify details about the service line itself, while Editing the Service Line Mapping helps you modify the DRGs mapped to the service line.
When you are done with making changes, click on the:
- Save icon to save the service line, or
- Cancel icon to discard your changes.
Deleting a CPT Service Line
To delete a service line record, click on the Delete (Red X) icon in the rightmost column of the grid. The record is deleted.
Mapping CPTs
You can map specific service lines to CPTs.
To edit the CPT mapping for a service line record, select Service Lines from the left hand menu and then select a CPT from the Service Line dropdown.
This action displays the CPT Service Lines grid with current mappings.
Select the Edit Mapping icon for the service line whose mapping you want to modify. This action displays the CPT list grid.
Note: If there are more than five CPTs mapped to a service line, RAPID displays only the first five, and shows a link stating "Click to more CPT's". You can click this link to view the full list of CPTs mapped to the service line using this link.
Adding CPTs to a Service Line
To select CPTs, check the checkbox next to the CPT name, in the rightmost column of the grid. When you are done selecting CPTs, click on the:
- Update button to save the mapping, or
- Cancel button to discard your changes.
Removing CPTs from a Service Line
To remove CPTs, uncheck the checkbox next to the DRG name, in the rightmost column of the grid. When you are done selecting CPTs, click on the:
- Update button to save the mapping, or
- Cancel button to discard your changes.
Adding, Updating and Deleting DRG Service Lines
To add, edit, or remove DRG service lines, click on the Service Lines option under the Data Mapping section.
This action displays the Service Lines page. Select DRG from the dropdown. The DRG Service Lines are displayed in a grid.

- DRGs - please note that only the first five DRGs mapped to a service line are If more than 5 DRGs are mapped, a link to the full DRG list is displayed.

Deleting a DRG Service Line
To delete a service line record, click on the Delete (Red X) icon in the rightmost column of the grid. The record is deleted.
