To manage goals and benchmarks, select Manage Performance Data from the left hand menu. This action takes you to the Performance Management page, where you are presented with a list of existing indicators.
The details on this page include:
- Indicator Name,
- Indicator Category,
- Indicator Sub Category,
- Indicator Type,
- Trend - specifies whether a higher/lower trend is better for the indicator, and
- Owner - specifies whether the indicator is Medisolv created, or hospital created.
Performance Data: Manage Performance Data
To manage performance data for individual indicators, click on the + sign next to the Indicator Name. When the Indicator node is expanded, you will be able to see all performance goals set for that indicator. If there are no performance goals saved for an indicator, the grid shows a message stating "No data to display".
You can group the Indicator List by one or more columns, sort it in ascending or descending order, or filter the list by entering search criteria in the textboxes below the header row.
The Indicator List grid also comes with several navigation features such as page number links,
First, Prev, Next, Last, and All buttons. You can go to a specified page number.
You can also choose how many records are displayed per page using the Records per Page dropdown.
The performance data setup differs for GL indicators and BAR indicators. Each is discussed below.

To create a new Performance Data record, click the New icon.

This action causes an empty Performance Data row to be displayed. You can enter the following information for the indicator:
- Start YYYYMM* - the start year and month for the performance record in YYYYMM format,
- End YYYYMM* - The end year and month for the performance record in YYYYMM format,
- Goal Lower*, the goal or Lower goal value for range indicators,
- Goal Upper, the upper value for the indicator; needs to be specified only for range indicators,
- Yellow Zone, a fixed value or percentage figure to show how close the indicator values are to the goal (and upper goal if the indicator is a range indicator),
- Is Yellow Zone a fixed number? - a check indicates that the number you entered for the Yellow Zone is treated as a fixed If this checkbox is unchecked, the Yellow Zone limit is calculated as a percentage of the Lower Goal,
- Exceptional Performance, a fixed value or percentage figure used to measure if the indicator has exceptional performance,
- Is Exceptional Performance a fixed number? - a check indicates that the number you entered for the Exceptional Performance is treated as a fixed number. If this checkbox is unchecked, the Exceptional Performance limit is calculated as a percentage of the Upper Goal, and
- Benchmark 1, a value that is populated from published state or national benchmarks, used for comparison purposes only.

Once you are done with entering the indicator information, click on:

- - the Cancel button to discard the indicator details you
Performance Management: Editing Performance Data for GL Indicators
If performance benchmarks have already been set for an indicator, they are displayed with Edit and Delete icons next to them in the rightmost Manage column. To modify an existing indicator record, click the Edit (Pencil) icon next to the performance data record.
This action causes the record to be displayed in edit mode. The following data can be entered:
- Start YYYYMM*,
- End YYYYMM*,
- Goal Lower*, the value your organization finds acceptable as its lowest limit,
- Goal Upper, the value your organization is aiming for. Maybe higher or lower than Goal Lower, depending on whether a higher/lower trend is considered better for the indicator,
- Yellow Zone, the rate that would be considered satisfactory performance,
- Is Yellow Zone Fixnum - a check indicates that the number you entered for the Yellow Zone is treated as a fixed If this checkbox is unchecked, the Yellow Zone limit is calculated as a percentage of the Lower Goal and then added to/subtracted from it (and Upper Goal values, if this indicator's goals are a range),
- Exceptional Performance, the value that would be considered outstanding for this indicator,
- Is EP Fixnum - a check indicates that the number you entered for the Exceptional Performance is treated as a fixed number. If this checkbox is unchecked, the Yellow Zone limit is calculated as a percentage of the Upper Goal and then added to/subtracted from it, and
- Benchmark 1, a value that can be used to rate your organization's progress through the start and end period.

Once you are done with entering your changes, click on:
- the Save button to finalize your changes, or
- the Cancel button to discard any

To delete an existing indicator record, click the Delete icon in the right most column.
This action causes a message to be displayed asking "Are you sure you want to delete this record?"

Performance Management: Previewing a Performance Data Record for BAR Indicators
For BAR indicators, performance data can be set and viewed for Charge, Derived Cost, RVU and Count values. To view any performance values that have been set, click on + sign next to the indicator. If there are performance indicators set up, they are displayed by time period. Click the Preview link for any time period.
The display has four tabs - Charge, Derived Cost, RVU and Count. The display on each tab consists of:

- Goal Upper, the upper value for the indicator; displayed only for range indicators,
