Microbiology: MicroOrganism Mapping

Microorganism mapping is done by hospitals to identify final stage microorganisms. Only those microorganisms set up as final are displayed in the filters in Microbiology reports, views and cubes. Microorganism mapping should be ideally done when RAPID is set up and reviewed by hospital administrators on a yearly basis.

To add or remove organisms from the Final Organisms list, click on the Microorganism Mapping option under Microbiology in the Data Mapping section of the Administration page.

Adding Organisms to the Final Organism list

From the Organisms column on the right, select one or more organisms, and click the Left arrow. The Organism(s) you selected now appear in the scroll box on the left.

Once you are done with setting up the organisms, click on the:

  • Submit button to save the group's current membership, or
  • Cancel to discard your changes.

If Submit is selected, RAPID displays a message stating "Record updated." If Cancel is selected, the grid is displayed as-is.
