How to compare hospitals within ENCOR Benchmarking

Clicking on the “Compare” button next to a hospital name in the Hospital Ranking module will take you the hospital comparison module.

Here you can view how you have been performing historically for the selected measure and compare that trend with the selected hospital. The hospital comparison module has two-line graphs for trend analysis.

The first is a comparison by quarter. Recommended for measures that have relatively stable rates from quarter to quarter.

The second is a comparison by rolling quarter. Recommended for more volatile measures that vary greatly from quarter to quarter.

To see what the exact rates are for each quarter, you can hover your mouse over the corresponding dots on the line chart. Alternatively, you can scroll down to the raw data grid at the bottom of the page.

Data by quarter is listed at the top of the grid, followed by 1-year rolling data.

The Medisolv Benchmark is available on the far right of the raw data grid. This benchmark is calculated by taking the mean of the top 10% of performers for each measure using performance data from Q2 of the previous year to Q1 of the current year.

Like the hospital ranking module, a different measure can be selected using the filters on the left and hitting Submit. Pressing the “Back to Hospital Ranking” button will take you back to the hospital ranking module.
