Enabling the PRO-PM Module
Once a client has added the PRO-PM Module for THA/TKA, the Measures will need to be enabled.
- Go to Administration->Medisolv Admin->Parameters
- There are four parameters for PRO-PM.
- Click Edit and change 'This organization has PRO-PM submission' to Y. Save or continue to the next parameter.
- If it is a new organization and they are only abstracting PRO-PM, change 'This organization Only Abstracts PRO-PM' to Y. Save. Do Not Change this parameter for existing orgs or their CORE Measures will disappear!!
- The 'PRO-PM Pre OP Processing Date' and 'Post OP Processing Date' can be changed to process old Clinical Files (will likely be used for Clinical Files that have not been imported and the processing has stopped for the year). It has a similar purpose to the 'Number of Quarters to Process' parameter, except it is for Clinical Files only and uses a date. This parameter can be updated by Managers only. Use the earliest procedure date in the clinical file. For example, the client is sending a Clinical File for Pre-OP cases for October 2023. Set the Pre-OP parameter to 10/1/2023.
- Click Edit and change 'This organization has PRO-PM submission' to Y. Save or continue to the next parameter.
- Once the 'This organization has PRO-PM submission' parameter is changed, the menus in ENCOR for Hospital Abstracted Measures will update to include PRO-PM items. This does not happen immediately. Once you change pages, you'll see the menu update.
- The THA-TKA PRO-PM-IP measures will need to be enabled for the entire year (for PRO-PM, it is 3Q2023, 4Q2023, 1Q2024 and 2Q2024 for the 2nd Voluntary Reporting Period). This is just like enabling any other Measure set. For the Mandatory Period (7/1/2024 - 6/30/2025), the new version is not available until August 2024 (anticipated - do not notify clients of this until it is firm), so no need to enable any measures until the release goes out. The 'This organization has PRO-PM submission' parameter can be changed prior to the release of the Mandatory Reporting version.
- The IPP will run overnight for the entire reporting period.
